Mickey is a 1-2 year old male English Cocker Spaniel. He is a very timid boy who needs a special home. Sadly, Mickey came to Mayhew very under socialised, and although his confidence has improved whilst with us, he still has a long way to go. He needs owners who have the time and patience to give him plenty of training and reassurance.
We feel he would benefit from living with a confident, calm dog who would also enjoy his company and help him build on his confidence. Mickey needs a calm, quiet home with owners who have a good understanding of dog behaviour, ideally having owned under-socialised dog before.
Mickey must live with another dog who is of the right disposition to be a positive influence on him and following a successful introduction. He can live with sensible teenagers of 16 years of age and upwards providing they have previously lived with a dog and are committed to his training.
He would not be suitable to live in a flat as he can be vocal. Mickey had some hair loss and sores when he arrived at Mayhew but these have since resolved with treatment. Mickey has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed.
