Louie is a 3 year old male English Cocker Spaniel. He is currently location in Swadlincote, DE11. He is available for adoption or fostering with a view to adopt. He is fully house trained, good on the lead, dogs friendly.
Unfortunately the current family believes they are not the best match for him due to his reaction for visitors (rescue will be happy to support the new family and advise on training to improve it, as on our behaviorist opinion this is not a real aggression, but not confidence /no trust issue).
Louie is loving and affectionate with us and loves playing with toys and going out for long walks and has a great recall. His biggest issue he is reactive to people who come to our home and he has bitten two people he now is kept on a lead and muzzled around people.
He has shown signs of aggression when eating (our comment : mild food guarding is absolutely manageable either by a few weeks training or just allowing dog to eat without bothering him). After seeking the advise of a behaviourist were told that the aggression can be helped but that it wouldn’t be suitable to have Louie around children.
He goes to a kennels who are aware of the behavioural issues but have never experienced this and he will happily play with all staff and dogs whilst staying there. ” LOUIE is a spaniel, so is active and playful and will be a great match for the family loving long walks, without or with kids over 8-10 years old, who can keep the boundaries when dog eats. Louie has no known health issues; neutered and he housetrained.
