Molly is a 4 year old female American Cocker Spaniel. She is being fostered in Gloucestershire with other dogs and cats.
Molly has spent her life as a breeding bitch before she came into our care – she was rehomed in the summer with her sister but unfortunately, the adoption did not work out.
When Molly was in our care previously, she was the more outgoing one of the two and the more confident. There were problems we were told with her chasing the cats, eating things in the garden unable to concentrate on her training the list went on.
She was not allowed in the lounge because of how she was with the cats and all sorts of other problems, shaking in the car, snatching food and then not coming in from the garden there was a long list and Molly was not bonding or making eye contact.
I think it’s just a case of Molly not being or becoming the dog they wanted and Molly becoming more anxious and worried which manifested itself into a dog that could not relax and was on high alert.
Molly was never like this she was in foster before with two cats and other dogs – that was why we homed them together as they were so easy.
Molly was an outgoing happy little dog – a simple kind little soul who was loving life I am going to share some of the videos of her in our care previously – she was a very happy-go-lucky little dog – tried not to take it personally but Molly was a very loved easy happy dog in our care.

She has come back very anxious and unhappy she is confused as to what she did that was so wrong – she worries she is doing the wrong thing and finds it difficult to relax she was not like this before. It’s early days but slowly the Molly we knew is coming back.
She has been fine with the cats and adores the other dogs – she has walked with multi dogs and is very relaxed out in the countryside with them.

We think too much was done with Molly, too much training, expectations were very high of a little dog who was just finding out about how life should be, and training was started from the off – it was too much for her.
There was so much else she needed to get used to after living in a cage, she had had freedom in her previous foster home with lots of love and was just getting used to normal day-to-day living that was enough for now.
Had to be honest because it’s important we do not fail her again and get the wrong home this was not Molly’s fault and we have to take responsibility for getting the homing wrong for her.
Her foster home is taking Molly back to basics with house training as that was another problem in her previous home – taking her out every hour and it working the last two days with no accidents, she has bonded with the other dogs and is not excluded from anywhere and has slept with her foster mum to help her feel safe and bond.
Molly is doing group walks and loving life on these – we will work on her confidence but just let her be – no training – just routine boundaries.

This dog is a beautiful little soul and will need a home with other dogs or dog – another kind confident dog – one she can run with and cuddle up to – kind people who have had previous rescue dogs so have an understanding of dogs that have not had a normal life before.
In an adult-only home, she would not cope with the chaos of kids and family life. Someone with a kind heart like her. Molly has been spayed vaccinated, chipped, flea/wormed
