Barney is an 8 year old male English Cocker Spaniel. He is a fantastic boy with heaps of energy and character.
Barney has recently found himself in Teckels care after feeling uncomfortable around small children in his home.
Barney is now on the hunt for an adult-only home where he can feel happy and safe again.
Barney does have a history of separation anxiety so would like his new family to be around all of the time so he doesn’t have to worry about being by himself.
Barney can over-attach himself to people quickly so Barney will need to live with more than one human and in a home where all family members will take a keen interest in his care so he doesn’t favour one person.
Barney does have some doggy social skills and can meet and greet other dogs when he is out, but would prefer to be the only pet in his new home.
Barney can be strong on the lead and loves going for long walks – please don’t let his age fool you; this handsome boy is still up for a good countryside adventure!
As mentioned, Barney has lived in a home for the last few years where he was housetrained and had good manners.
Although we can’t guarantee this going forward, we do feel he has excellent potential to pick this up again quickly.
Barney can be a bit of a worrier, so his new family may need to come to the centre a few times to get to know him; as well as be prepared for Barney to have some home visits before the big ‘going home day’.
